         <description><![CDATA[<div>The performers in this poem discuss what it is like to be racially ambiguous. In chapter 2 of <em>Diversity &amp; Equity in the Classroom</em> Pang reenforces that idea that "You are a multidimensional person, and a one-word racial or ethnic category like Black, Asian, or Caucasian is a limiting descriptor. The poets emphasize this fact by expressing that they would rather be perceived as human than the color of their skin or texture of their hair. This concept also relates to Pang's text when she states on page 339 that "We are members of one race, the human race.    </div>]]></description>
