The key factors that influenced the expansion of the UN were the cold war and decolonisation, where multiple independant states wanted to be a part of this supporting assosiation. It grew as it wanted to represent more of a universal body rather than be a Western-dominated organisation. In addition, it commenced it's expansion with a view to assist with as many problems as possible such as environmental concerns and peacekeeping. When the organisation startred growing it began encouraging multiple countries to align with its principles of collective security.

One of the most important reason is that they are often slow-acting and require broad international consensus to be effective.

Human rights are basically the basic rules that say everyone should be treated fairly, no matter who they are. The UN made a list in 1948 covering things like freedom, safety, and education so everyone can live with dignity. An example is freedom of speech. This means you can share your opinions or protest about things you think are wrong without getting arrested. It’s like having the right to speak your mind at school or on social media.

Human rights are super important because they protect people from being treated badly or bullied by those in power. They make sure the world stays peaceful and fair, giving everyone a voice and a chance to actually succeed in their own life. Imagine a girl being denied an education just because of her gender. Human rights laws step in to say that’s illegal. They ensure she has the same chance to go to school and get a job as anyone else.
