Question #1 (this is a statement to make): Make a statement about abiding by the HFC Academic Integrity Policy. And then follow through with it

My statement about abiding the HFC academic integrity policy is that it is fair to an extent for students. I believe some students genuinely struggle with material and that it should be ok if they use resources or friends to help out, even if the work is similar. I am not saying that copying should be allowed but it is a good way for students to better learn. I also believe that the consequences are also pretty harsh considering that students might need some classes and just for a stupid mistake they can lose that chance.

Question #2 from Chapter 2: Find a credible and valid source on any of the following topics from Chapter 2 (or one of your choosing).

Effects of drugs (a specific one, multiple, legal, illegal, etc.) on our functioning – anything related to this.

Drugs can have a high effect on our daily lives. A great example would be morphine. In the textbook it claims, " opium based drugs such as morphine: they elevate the mood and reduce pain." According to an article published from the Alcohol and Drug Foundation, they also claim "short terms of Opium use include: Euphoria, relaxation, pain relief, etc." These two topics claim that Morphine or Opium based drugs have the same effects on our lives. I think the sources are credible because I have worked at a pharmacy and the side effects spoken about were what I was taught.

Question #3 from Chapter 3: Use a generative AI tool to research one of the following topics from Chapter 3 (or one of your choosing). You choose the topic and the AI tool. Paste what you found and the tool you used in your Padlet.

Ways to deal with job stress – strategies for handling it. While job stress can be very hard to manage because one wouldn't know whether to keep up with the stress or to just quit their job and live stress free for a few days before they realize they need another job to make money, there's actually a lot of ways to handle and deal with job stress before making a decision. Some ways include time management. Time management allows you to be able to prioritize your tasks as well as break tasks into smaller steps. Another way would be setting boundaries. By setting boundaries, you will learn how to say no as well as be able to have a better work-life balance. Lastly, practicing relaxation techniques. This would allow to feel more inner peace, and allow to clear your mind better. The AI tool used for this question was chatgpt.

Question #4 Compare and contrast what you found for #2 (with the AI tool) with our textbook. This needs to be done without an AI or paraphrasing tool.

In page 100 of my textbook of Chapter 3 relating to job stress, it talks about ways to cope with job stress include exercising as one of the main stress relievers. Comparing this job the AI tool I would say would be a big difference because I would've never thought of exercising as a stress reliever. The AI tool spoke out on more common sense and internal delivers rather than something that would be genuinely beneficial.

Question #5 from Chapter 6: Describe a time when you experienced classical conditioning or operant conditioning and share it with us. Describe your experience in detail.

In my lie, I have been heavily raised with operant conditioning. If I ever did something wrong I was heavily punished. If i did something good, I was rewarded well. An example I can use is whenever I come home past my curfew. My dad would give me a set time and whenever I miss it, I either get grounded from the gym, take my phone taken, or not allowed to go out with my friends for a week. However, if I am rewarded by getting a good grade I get the new shoes I wanted or some money to go out with.

The main elements of operant conditioning used in my example would be negative punishment. This would be because my father would remove things I enjoyed as a punishment for not doing good. And positive punishment was used because whenever I did good, I was given something to satisfy my needs.

Extinction: With my father always rewarding me or punishing me for doing good or bad, I will start to get used to his ways and not really care anymore. I would just find a way around his punishments. As for the rewards I would just be using it as an advantage. This will make me untrustworthy in the future and not really allow me to be honest with my father on whether I did something good or bad.

This was not my first time using an AI tool. I honestly really enjoy it especially when I need help relearning a subjects, or even as a review. It honestly has helped me a lot and even if I try to educate myself on a few topics as well. Most of the time AI is very valid and credible, however it is not always 100%. I still however always use it. I really like how it is free, and provides answers and examples really quickly. However I dislike that you have to be very specific with what type of answer you want. Overall I would definitely reuse AI.
