Patient is the one who experience the illness hence with their experience and being most important team member in the health care setting patient can as well partly contribute in assessing the student.

-Patients living with long term health conditions are able to take control of their health by understanding and managing their condition and such expert patients will be able to help other patients, students with the illness management. Or even be able to work with physicians in ensuring the development of comprehensive care and diverse management.

-Expert patients will know lot about the disease, understands the drugs in detail and be able to identify some needs that might not be considered by the Dr or other health professionals.

-patients are experts of their own priorities, knowledge, beliefs and choices. This improves self efficacy, and confidence in their ability to solve their problems a d reduce dependency and disability.

-Experience of patient is valuable since by understanding patient’s views and situations student can be equipped to identify a solution which leads to a successful outcome.
