Toxic trio in nail polish
• DBP or Dibutyl Phthalate, a plasticizer used has been associated with nausea and irritation of nose, skin, eyes, throat and mouth.

• Toulene, a paint thinner is connected with numbness, dizziness, dry skin, and irritation in eyes, throat, and nose.

• Formaldehyde needs to be used in limited level or else it can turn toxic.

Toxicity is still debated regarding the toxic trio but still there is a need for more human studies. 

Other health concerns

• Triphenyl phosphate [TPHP] is hormone disrupting chemical.
• Skin is an organ, which absorbs anything applied directly.
• Male reproductive system can possibly get damaged. 
Unawareness 
• Nail polishes have been used for decades and are still continued to be used by people and salon workers. 
• Users are not aware of benign chemicals used in cosmetics.
• Toxic free claims still carry high level noxious substances.
Awareness creation needs to be the first step for people using cosmetic products.
