Detailed diaries were kept for every girl once she became able to bear children. Once the woman could potentially be pregnant she was assigned a special attendant from then on. During labor the woman would use a birthing chair to give birth. Midwives would be with the mother for 6 days following the birth.The mother would never be left alone for the 6 days following the birth for fear of developing a fever. After 40 days of the birth their is a celebration of the baby with music, dancing and feasts.
