I'm Aen and currently live in Baling, Kedah. My ambition is to be a cat's hero! Come and join me.

I enjoy playing netball, reading any genre of books, and watching romantic + comedy + action show. As a normal hyper teen, being sweaty and playful is one of the best moments for me. Playing netball just makes me feel 'I'm the most productive person in this sphere of the earth!'

Being an army and teacher's daughter made me move to every edge of Malaysia. From west to Borneo and back to the west and now inshallah forever home in northern Malaysia, Kedah. But, I swear this is the best part of my life where I can meet every type of person. Undeniable that this experience had taught me the person I am today.

People might think I'm the type of person who just lives in my own land just because of my arrogant face. Trust me even my MBTI test is 63% introvert, I can get along with you every minute BUT depends on my social battery's percentage.

The necessary things for achieving belief in Allah are belief in the existence of Allah which means he/she will never question Allah's existence. Next, belief in the lordship of Allah with a firm belief Allah is the one who has the power of control and everything. Lastly, belief in His divinity that He is with no partner or associate.
The characteristics of Angels in Islam are made from light. no free will, tell Allah about the behavior of humans, limitless and visible.
Al-Quran is our reference for whatever we did in our life.

From this topic, I can learn:

There are 7 groups who received God's help in the field of Mahsyar. At this point, we know if every person put their effort to be one of God's help receivers. Inshaallah they will get it.
On the day of judgment, there are two things we should know. Yaumul Hisab and the journey on siraat. On Yaumul Hisab, mouths will be silenced and we will know which hand will receive the record while on the siraat, and how we will cross the siraat.
There are 3 main benefits of learning eschatology. Firstly, we will always do righteous deeds to achieve great rewards. Secondly, we will continue to behave well and correctly. Lastly, we will be a person that ready to fight in the path of Allah.
In order to be a good Muslim, we have to obey Allah, respect to parents, and last but not least respect others.

WEEK 1: NIYAH

Have you ever heard about these two hadiths in your entire life? I bet you have. Did you know that niyah is one of the most important acts of Muslims? Everything we do in our life always starts with niyah.
Do you want to know how generous Allah is? If we only have good intentions but didn't do them yet, we already get a reward BUT if we have bad intentions but didn't do them yet, it never counts as a bad deed unless you have already done it. Can we feel Allah's generosity?
In everything we do, niyah plays a big role in order to get Allah's blessing and protection. We always heard, "niat tidak menghalalkan cara" and yes it is true. For example, you are stealing one's money to pay your mother hospital's bills. It's totally prohibited because taking something from someone without their permission is haram.
In a nutshell, a good niyah is every Muslim's responsibility before doing anything even in the smallest matter in our daily life.

WEEK 2: IBADAH

Have you ever used this sentence before in everything you do? Did you know it also counts as an Ibadah? Come I tell you more!

Muslim scholars have divided Ibadah into two categories which are General Ibadah (all the positives and good activities of an individual) and Specific Ibadah (Allah has prescribed the forms and frequencies).
The first category is Specific Ibadah-> this category comprises the 5 pillars of Islam: performing the Salah five times a day, paying Zakah to those who deserve it, fasting the whole month of Ramadhan and performing Hajj once in a lifetime if one is capable doing so.
Now we move to General Ibadah-> the activities may be individual, social, economic, political or spiritual. Easy to say that this category is including everything you do for the sake of Allah and doing something with benefits.
Here I want to focus more on General Ibadah because it is everything we can do anywhere and anytime right? Yes, everything we do for the sake of Allah counts as Ibadah as long as its don't against the rule of Islam. For example, you are going out to play netball with friends. You are covering your aurah and intend to play netball for Allah's sake to get healthier, which also counts as Ibadah. How easy is it?

In conclusion, we have to be a wise Muslims to look an opportunity to worship Allah in every circumstances.

WEEK 3: PREPARATION OF SALAH WITH KHUSYU'

Khusyu' in Salah is

one of the tips that leads to a successful path for every Muslim.
connoted as the presence of the heart during an act of Salah and focusing with proper humility as well as performing it in a tranquil and unhurried manner.

Here are a few tips to gain khusyu' in Salah:
-> Pre Salah

know Allah very well
avoiding major and minor sins
recite Quran frequently
minimize attachment to worldly matters
avoid excessive laughter
stop working as soon as you hear adhan
perform wudhu' immediately after hearing the adhan
go to the mosque early
waiting time for the congregational prayer helps create a buffer zone between the state of mind before Salah ad the state of during Salah

-> During Salah

take Iqamah as the signal to the mind to be well prepared for performing the actual Salah
think it might be the last Salah in your life, you are standing between the hand of Allah and the angel of death is chasing you
make isti'azah
keep eyes focused on the place of sujud
try to recall the response of Allah to you after every ayah you say
beautifying the recitation of the Quran
recite the Quran slowly and reflect upon its meaning
change the surah from time to time
recite iftitah in every Salah
understand Arabic helps focus on the intended meaning

when you make Taslim, make istighfar to Allah
Dzikir to show our gratitude to Allah

To conclude, having a perfect Salah with khusyu' is a demand from Allah to His servant in order to get His pleasure and affection.

WEEK 5: THE VIRTUES FOUND IN SAWM (NAFS & TAQWA)

Al-Sawm is refraining from eating and drinking as well as all actions that can invalidate the fast, starting from dawn until sunset in the month of Ramadan.

Here are two main reasons why Muslims need to fast:

for self restrain (nafs)
to increase Taqwa (piety) to Allah

How did Sawm attach to Taqwa?

make people keep depending on Allah in every challenge during Ramadan
show incredible gratitude towards poor people
control nafs which is our desire to do anything that can lead us to decrease our rewards

We know that Allah gives us rukhsah in certain ibadah and the same goes for fasting. One of the rukhsah in fasting is for anyone who is travelling allowed to break their fast BUT lets we see through ayat in surah Al-Baqarah ayat 184:

اَيَّامًا مَّعْدُوْدٰتٍۗ فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ مَّرِيْضًا اَوْ عَلٰى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنْ اَيَّامٍ اُخَرَ ۗ وَعَلَى الَّذِيْنَ يُطِيْقُوْنَهٗ فِدْيَةٌ طَعَامُ مِسْكِيْنٍۗ فَمَنْ تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّهٗ ۗ وَاَنْ تَصُوْمُوْا خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ
Dr Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran:

˹Fast a˺ prescribed number of days. But whoever of you is ill or on a journey, then ˹let them fast˺ an equal number of days ˹after Ramaḍan˺. For those who can only fast with extreme difficulty, compensation can be made by feeding a needy person ˹for every day, not fasted˺. But whoever volunteers to give more, is better for them. And to fast is better for you, if only you knew.

WEEK 6: THE VIRTUES IN ZAKAT AND SADAQAH

ZAKAT is known as payment made annually under Islamic law on certain kinds of property and used for charitable and religious purposes, one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
SADAQAH is connoted as a virtuous deed or an act of kindness without expecting anything in return.

What are the differences between zakat and sadaqah?

Zakat is counted among the five pillars of Islam and it is a compulsory donation of a fixed amount that all who meet specific financial requirements must donate once every year.
Sadaqah on the other hand is an entirely voluntary act of kindness or charity done to please Allah. It can be done in any form and at any time of the year.

Here I tell you what are the benefits of Zakat and Sadaqah:

get forgiveness and a great reward (refers to AL-AHZAB verse 35)
cleansing and purifying the soul (refers to AL-TAWBAH verse 203)
reach the level of Al-Birr (goodness) in the sight of God (refers to ALI IMRAN verse 92)
remove sins and mistakes (refers to AL-BAQARAH verse 271)
protect the soul from stinginess (refers to AL-HASYR verse 9)
reward multiplied by God (refers to AL-BAQARAH verse 261)

No need for a long explanation, just go and read the references that are given. RUN!

Sometimes small acts make a huge impact.
Normally we heard this but feel nothing. Little did we know it is very close to us, especially in sadaqah. We never knew our simple give can spark a radiant smile on someone's face. For example, from the short situation between Ali and Farrel. Can we imagine how happy the orphans will be if they got Ali's beloved Hot Wheels when know they can't afford it?

WEEK 4: SOLEMN WISDOM IN PRAYER

Ibnu Qayyim Al-Jauziyah said;
"The heart that walks towards Allah SWT is like birds;
love is the head, fear and hope are second the wings.”
So fear and hope are the two wings of a Muslim's heart that cannot fly to reach its goal if one of them is missing.

I won't touch more about the hikmah of khusyu' in prayer, but only two:

1. based on surah al-mu'minun verses 1-2, whoever khusyu' in prayer will get success in their life.

successful indeed are the believers(1)
those who humble themselves in prayer(2)
2. based on one hadith
a person who is devoted in prayer will have his minor sins removed
