    5. Showcall (project a scholar's work and critique it as a class)
    6. Independent Practice w/ Aggressive Monitoring (giving short visual/verbal feedback as sholars are working; I usually add a check if they are totally correct, a dot if they're on the write track, and circle items they need to come back to). 
    7. Visuals 
    8. Sentence Frames (although I have mixed feelings about this one -- I like it when we come up with sentence frames as a class, as opposed to me just providing them)
    9. Flipped Classroom (this one is certainly one of my top strategies)

    4. Save the Last Word for Me (I love this as a method to give kids more control over discussion protocols)
    5. Mindmaps (for brainstorming and organizing relationships among ideas)
    6. Socratic Seminars w/ student-led inquiry (critical thinking, speaking, and listening)
    7. Gallery Walks (to show off student work and gather peer feedback)
    8. Entrance and Exit Tickets (to quickly collect information and gather student data)
    9. Jot Thoughts/Notes (to brainstorm ideas)
    10. Document Camera (I LOVE using my Doc camera to model annotation for students - so effective!)
