Allowing the students to take something that they value, like music, and analyze the material into poetry is great. This would be great in 8th grade, but I fear that in High School this would be a little much, but that would depend on the class. Some classes would do well with this activity and others would not. <br></p><p>However, this is a great way to bring TPACK into the classroom. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The teacher is in the area where that reflects his/her mastery of content <span style="font-size: 13px;">and pedagogy.  The teacher knows the content to be taught because s/he </span><span style="font-size: 13px;">knows the essential learnings and understandings in the curriculum guide.  The teacher </span><span style="font-size: 13px;">is able to properly model for students how the procedure is to be done, develop a reflective </span><span style="font-size: 13px;">note-taking process for students, provide a quick formative assessment to plan focused reteaching </span><span style="font-size: 13px;">and intervention as needed.  Homework is also differentiated based on student ability and preference.</span></p><p>The teacher's pedagogy is effective in the classroom and produces a productive, engaging, and student-<span style="font-size: 13px;">centered learning environment.  The teacher lacks the incorporation of technology integration, which would push students to the next level of growth and critical thinking.  If students are this excited about the learning, then surely they have questions about the topic.  Technology should be used as a tool for them to explore their questions, research their curiosities, and expand upon their knowledge.  Technology would also be a great way for students to display their learning and understandings.  Rather than doing their homework on paper, then students should be encouraged to explore Web 2.0 tools to showcase what they know have learned and what they know.  </span></p>]]></description>
