I want to get better at using techniques such as active listening and paraphrasing in coaching/facilitating peers.  I think I do a good job of this with students, but could maybe do a better job with adults.  In thinking as to why that is, it likely centers around me feeling very confident in my status with students--that they trust me to lead them in good discussion.  In team meetings, people come in with a set of emotions (sometimes annoyance or fear) that I'm reading and responding to, consciously or subconsciously, that can impact the quality of our session.
