Benjamin Franklin was a representative for the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. Franklin urged other representatives to support the constitution in 1787. He wrote a speech persuading other delegates to sign. Even though not all delegates signed, Franklin's speech probably persuaded some delegates. He did advocate for executive power to be placed in the hands of a commitee and not one person which did not end up happening. Franklin paved the way for the Great Compromise so both large and small states had representaion.
