King Leopold was the king of Belgium from 1865 1909.In 1885 Leopold got the Congo and was ruled as the sole owner and that it was his personal property.After Leopold had the Congo to himself he did some very bad things that lead to 10 million deaths of the Congolese people.King Leopold never stepped foot in the the Congo though,What he did was sent a group of his people to order and make the Congo men and boys their slaves.He did this because he wanted their resources specifically rubber.If the slaves did not meat his exceptions he would abuse them or cut their right hand off.All he wanted was pleasure and to make his dreams come true of being rich and having power and that was his motive.
