Technology was spreading and advancing really quickly, so new words were created to satisfy the need of the speekers. The Colonialism  was a two-way phenomenon, and we started to put words of another country in our Language. The need of the world to communicate was several at that time because of the negociations of the Britain's to other countrys, so they started to introduce a large number of words and expressions and had this expressions in commom to comunicate.

In the 19th century, the novels were published a lot, and people used to love it. A lot of important writters appears at that time, like Jane Austen, Shakeaspeare (on Elizabethan Era), Lewis Carrol. Austen and a lot of writters of her time believed that the use of correct gramamr was crucial to a good work, and the non-standard vocabullary should be avoid at all cost. A lot of new words and expressions on English Language came from Literature, invented words from this writters are now used or changed to our dialect.
