This semester I have been thinking a lot about my values as an artist, creator, collaborator and theater practitioner. I have been learning more about how to create a sort of balance or equilibrium in my work as well as in my life in general and I have been learning how to juggle different aspects of my life while still maintaining true to my values as an artist. An example I can think of that embodies this would be the devising activity that we practiced as a class, the one that entailed substituting counting numbers for creating different gestures or noises with a partner. This activity embodies these thoughts I have about juggling life and values because it represents the act of maintaining focus but also being creative with your work. It also added an aspect of collaboration as well, which is also an important value of mine.

Working on the dream journal assignment reminded me to look for inspiration in more unexpected ways and to keep my mind open for any ideas and thoughts that may come to me at any given time. I think the dream journal illustrates my constantly evolving skill and need to look for inspiration and create interesting things with the inspirations that I come across. I really enjoyed how the assignment got me thinking about different stories and scenarios. It also reminded me to have fun with my art and storytelling.

Nearly every activity that we've worked on throughout the course of PCP has been collaborative in some way. They have all been helpful at creating a more collaborative community within each cohort and teaching us how to collaborate with different types of people in different ways. One specific example that I think about a lot has been the playwriting and directing piece that we worked on in the last few days of the module. Although I don't typically work on playwriting or acting or devising, it ended up being a really fun activity that got my creative juices flowing and helped me learn how to collaborate with someone that has a different mindset and ideas than mine.
