1. As a group, we are not loving this novel at all.
2. We each realized that it takes longer to complete one chapter of this novel than any other, so we decided to not rush when reading.
3. We took our time reading, and all decided that a great amount of this book has to be read at home.
4. We hope this novel picks up a little more as we continue.

-We all agree that the book is boring, and has way too much going on that makes the plot more confusing.
- We fully do not understand the overall purpose in these chapters?
- Yosef during this section of the book is trying to understand the regulations of the military in which have a very surreal impact on each of the airmen’s lives each day.
- During this part of the book, a man named Milo appears. His personality is contrasted to the rest of the group. This shows how this novel exaggerates the war and is not similar to depictions of WWII.
-What will be the climax of this novel? The strange narrative style chosen by the author made the overall climax hard to understand.

1. The group agrees that the book has become very complex in what it is trying to drive its point home, but still not captivating us still as readers.
2. This is still a very lengthy book than we thought it would be and it is quite hard for the group to keep themselves on course with meeting the designated point for reading each week.
3. As a group we also agreed that this section of book displays a level of how chaotic war can be, and its hardships onto the people involved.

2. The ending of the book was okay it really gave more speculation on what happened after Yosef left the military camp showing how he was leaving the system that controlled him all this time.
3. The group agreed that this book was a long endeavor to read for how much it did not capture our attention to each and every detail that the book offered sadly.

2. We wish we read more so we had more content to cover.
3. We all agreed that the first section of the book we read was dragging more than we’d like, and hope the novel gets more interesting.

Gerardo: I thought the novel as a whole lacked excitement and any aspect that would attract students of our age. I believe it is outdated and would not interest any high school student.

Perrone: Pacing was pretty slow and boring at times. The story contained little action and the setting and tone were very depressing and dreadful, But the story did portray the brutality of war.

Ashby: The book was slow in pace with a lack in action and complex themes. The book is very dark which does not stand out to be any more compelling than any other book out their.

Horstmann: The book was overall very underwhelming in what I expected it to be. I thought it would have been a fast pacing book with a decent amount of action, instead of more of like a drama type of book about WWII. I did not enjoy this book a lot and probably would not recommend it to a lot of people .
