In 1281, he sent the second of his two huge fleets consisting of 150,000 Mongols, Chinese, and Korean warriors. After 54 days, a Kamikaze hit the Sea of Japan, dismantling the ship, and killing everyone in it.  For centuries afterwards, the Japanese spoke very highly, or respectfully about the kamikaze, or the “divine wind,” that had saved Japan.
