Outdoor education may be learning about the natural environment and its laws by directly showing students natural phenomena on the spot, such as creating natural gardens or recreating environments, and I believe this is entirely different if compared to what is usually taught in ordinary classrooms. The purposes of outdoor education might be even broader, ranging from social to historic and therapeutic aims. That's particularly useful when teaching to very young learners, as they might want to learn through direct experiences.

Andrea

Use outdoor resources (parks, museums, sites) instead of getting all information from a book, it offers enrichment through outdoor experiences, involves children actively (learning by doing). Outdoor education involves the community: its local history, culture and environment.
