At the beginning of year 2024, I saw a reel on Instagram about an opportunity for foreign professionals inmigrant offered by the state of Florida through Miami Dade College to train as teachers and work in the public school system of Florida, and i thought this is my chance to fulfill my dream of being an educator. Today, I am here in this EAP and EPI program, training to be a passionate educator and give my best to help create a better future in this society and country that opened its doors to me.

I have always believed that I should share my knowledge with others to create a better future and contribute to the economic development of the country.

In the workplace, most jobs were manual and relied heavily on paper, typewriters, and face-to-face communication. Tasks were slower, and tools were mechanical rather than digital. Communication was done through letters or landline telephones, and there was little flexibility in how or where people worked.

In education, classrooms were centered around chalkboards, textbooks, and handwritten assignments. Students had limited access to information and depended mainly on their teachers and schools libraries for learning.

Despite its limitations, past technology laid the foundation for many of the innovations we enjoy today. Inventions like the printing press, the steam engine, and early computers marked the beggining of a technological journey that continues to evolve rapidly.

Teachers face the challenge of balancing the benefits of technology like personalized learning and digital collaboration with the need to promote honesty, responsability, adn respectful behavior. Ensuring proper use of technology, seating clear expectations, and using monitoring tools are essential strategies to maitain integrity and effective classroom management in the digital age.
