Across the street is a house and a pond, the park district bought it a few years ago and it is public. There are a ton of bass there and I have even got my 4.5lb PB from their. A new thing I have learned this year is how to fish out of a kayak. I have gone fishing 3 or 4 times in it now and I somewhat got the hang of it. Last weekend my husband and I went fishing in the Kishwaukee river near Rockford... but we don't own waders... so we were IN the river! Hah! I only caught a tiny tiny smallmouth.

I was hoping to go out this weekend but I ended up being too busy. I have found that the fall is one of my favorite times to fish. Usually during the fall the fish move up shallow to stock up on bait fish before winter. Baseball has started back up and I'm practicing and playing for 3 teams all at the same time! I have high school ball, my travel team, and a fall league with my friends.
