Hello! My name is Evangelia Moula, I live in Rhodes, an island in South Aegean region of Greece and I am a language teacher. For the last 4 years I m responsible for the coordination of extracurricular innovative activities at the secondary schools of my region. This means that students, with their teachers' help and support collaborate voluntarily in order to learn, create, act or whatever they chose to do, in their free time.
Rhodes has always been a touristic destination which attracted people form all over the world, a fact that guarantied the locals high living standards. Rhodes' outstanding natural beauty and cultural wealth is a major advantage for local touristic business. Nevertheless, reticently financial crisis has stroke tourism as well. The extra curricular activities are an ideal space for reflecting upon it.. Teachers can conduct programs around the axis of local economy and the need for new entrepreneurial ideas, in order to contribute to the local society's adjusting to the new standards and safeguard its well being.

In Greek educational system there is an extra curricular zone, called Innovative school activities. Students create teams voluntarily and they meet regularly to run a project of their own choice. These projects are mainly associated to the world outside school, and connect them to the society. They take initiatives to improve their environment, to suggest solutions for community problems, or to sensitize society on different subjects. Among their actions they even participate in entrepreneurial competitions, where they apply innovative ideas and promote them.

Teachers to guaranty that their authority is not being doubted, they tend to impose on children's minds the concept that there is only one answer to every question. Students tend to adopt this as a fact, because they also feel secure on the stable ground of the one single answer. This practice perpetuates the fact of killing creativity.

They mostly dream of immigrating to Europe to find a job. Some come up with innovative ideas, but they believe that Greece cannot support their dreams.

Im one of the very few happy people in the world (!!!!) who loves what he/she does. My dream job is to be self-controlled and free to take initiatives and be creative. I want a loose timetable, meaning that I would like to handle my working time by myself, not only within settled working hours. Im lucky enough to work under these circumstances, due to the nature of my job. I work for public education, as a supervisor of extra curricular activities in my region. Of course there many things that dont meet my aspirations, but Im quite satisfied so far

I could ask my students to observe the local business and decide which one they judge as successful. Then I ask them to think about its features that make it successful and try to understand what makes the specific business special. To locate the advantages or the things that guaranty its viability. to compare it with others which are not so good as this. So they can start thinking critically about business world.

I often shed light to aspects of everyday life which can be approached through the lenses of ethical thinking in order to make students aware of aspects which are not visible at once. e.g. I ask them to think about the water needed for a hamburger (the whole chain of actions required for a hamburger to be produced) or a t-shirt. So they interrelate everyday products with environmental thinking. I also ask them to place themselves in others' shoes, especially people who are being discriminated and marginalized, so as to understand their feelings. Then I ask them to propose ideas to confront the unfair situationand reduce their consumption habits.

Sustainable Thinking explores how values and sustainability can reshape the way management is practised and applied. It is about combining innovative creative thinking with analytical problem-solving skills to produce outputs that are business ready and ethically driven.
Spotting opportunities- Making the impossible possible is what entrepreneurs are supposed to be good at. By making something possible, you will find new ways of doing things that others have not thought of. If these new ways of doing things involve products or services, you have found an opportunity.
