Gaining Independence, In 1810 Mexico revolted against the Spaniards and made a revolution lead by Miguel Hidaglo. Mexico had been under rule of Spain for 300 years ever since they Spain invaded the Aztecs in 1519, but Mexico wanted independence and began a war to gain it. 1,000,000 died in this war, but Mexico pushed and was able to be a free Country. To this day people celebrate this day, and in Mexico it is considered a big success!
