1.    Were the objectives of the project fulfilled?

 

Yes, the objectives have been met. Gaining work experience, developing interpersonal skills, building communication skills and confidence are examples. I want to keep working part-time after my elective posting is through. I now recognise the significance and difficulty of working in retail. I learned to respect other people's professions from it.

 

2.    What have you enjoyed or liked the most about the project?

 

At work, I enjoyed learning new tasks. Everyday is a difficult but enjoyable experience. Meeting new people from diverse backgrounds has improved my communication skills. The primary source of enjoyment, in my opinion, is having extra pocket money. I learned to be more self-reliant and frugal with my money. Since I started working, my self-confidence had also greatly increased. I enjoyed conversing with others now more than ever.

 

3.    What have you found challenging about this project? (any part of the project you found hard to do)

 

Being punctual at work was challenging. Sometimes my night shift ended around 10 pm, and the next day I had to report for work at 9 am. Although it might be somewhat chaotic, I've become accustomed to it. Another thing was to display and create a look creatively. The clothing that came in was sometimes highly distinctive and challenging to style, but working with my teammates helped us create the greatest look for the mannequin that would draw customers. It could also be difficult when new stock arrived because we had to decide where to put the things on display. The market for Levi’s is small because they are extremely pricey. I sometimes got really bored because there were not many customers, and it was challenging for me to learn how to interact with them. As a result, encouraging and ensuring the customer to buy can be difficult.

 

4.    What has really worked? (any part in the project that you thought worked well)

 

There has been progress in folding techniques. I liked how the staff would speak up and correct my mistakes in folding rather than remain silent. They complained that the jeans were too short when I folded them. I've grown from my mistakes, and I now fold as instructed. Next, I would say it's impressive that after only two weeks of work, I remembered the jeans' type and code name. One of the tasks required us to manually count every item in the store and backroom. We were able to complete the stock counts in a single day thanks to the staff's cooperation.

 

5.    What can be improved in this project?

 

I want to get better at communicating with team members and customers. One of the skills I'd like to improve is time management.

I definitely feel that I managed to fulfill all the objectives as evidence of I am getting better with Korean pronunciation in speaking and understanding Korean literature. Other than that, I managed to understand accurately what the actors or actresses are saying in Korean dramas or variety shows without the help of subtitles. I am completely delighted with this improvement and will definitely look forward  to learn Korean at higher level. 

2. What have you enjoyed or liked the most about the project?

One thing that I am truly enjoy and grateful about this project is how great the lessons were arranged from the start. It is very convenient, well structured with lecture notes in each lesson, quizzes with evaluated marks and the examples given are really easy to understand. It truly helps me a lot during this 4 weeks journey of learning Korean in intermediate level. I can always refer back to all the notes or lectures given without any problem.

3. What have you found challenging about this project? (any part of the project you found hard to do)

The most challenging part of the project for me is when I need to make a sentence based on the verb or noun given worksheet exercise. Just like any other languages, when you make a sentence, you need to make sure it is well delivered to others by using correct adjectives, verbs, nouns and prefix. I used to have this doubt back then that as I was not that confident to make sentences because people might misunderstood it but I can gradually see my improvement making sentences accurately with the helps of Papago and Naver apps. Another thing is it is unfortunate that I cannot get the certificate at the end of learning because of the upgraded version of the course requires payment so I find it quite hard for me but overall I enjoy the 4 weeks of learning process.

My way of understanding Korean text or literature is definitely getting better with the helps of quizzes each week. I may find it quite difficult to reply a text or make a paragraph on the spot but if I am given a text or paragraph to translate, I definitely can understand what are the authors or writers trying to deliver. I can feel this sense of accomplishment when I can understand the whole text accurately.

5. What can be improved in this project?

This project basically covers various kind of topic including Korean greetings, travelling, personality, appearance, consideration, mistake, consolidation and appreciation that need to be completed within 6 weeks. I believe this project could be improved with including other topics as well such as Hangeul and Korean history and culture. It would be good to learn Korean culture in depth as we can be more appreciative towards other country’s culture. In addition to that, I believe this project could be improved with the help of Korean pen-pal or Kakaotalk- learning mates to make it easier for them to correct my works and help me to learn Korean better in daily basis. It is quite a shame that this time I cannot find my old Kakaotalk friends that used to help me in learning Korean back then since we lost contacts for few years. I think it would be a great help to improve my Korean with the help of these pen-pal friends.

- In my opinion, all of the learning materials that has been provided by this course are sufficient, but if i can do something that can polish more of my Korean language is by joining a real class that is not virtual. In that way, the lecturer can correct my pronunciation and use of words during class. Other than that, I’m fully satisfied that i have joined this course, thank you EP for giving me this opportunity!

1. Yes! I can proudly said that my objectives in learning Chinese languange had fullfilled. Now I can read, speak and understand a little this languange easily although I still need to practice more. I also able to improve my personal and professional communication skills along the road. 

2. What I enjoyed the most was this project had make me feel more confident and build my self esteem. The notes and videos that they gave also fun as it is not as complicated and very understandable. I also liked when they teach me on writing the Chinese characters as I can practice writing it. 

3. The part that I found challenging was the quizzes that they gave. As a beginner, I still need some time to process some informations that they give. Other than that, some pronounciation also quite hard as some of the words have same pronounciation but with different meanings. 

4. All the videos that they gave and notes really work for me. I feel I can refer to the videos and the notes when I needed. They also give some tips and tricks on how to remember the characters such as symbol and story telling. Through these resources, it thought me to remember, understand and know what the meaning of each character.  The quizzes also test me about my knowledge. 

5. They should include mini discussion or some team work to make me more enjoyable and fun. Rather than only giving videos and quizzes, they also should include games so that the students dont get bored easily. I also need to improve myself too by stop procrastinate. I also need to buy books to help me learn more instead of relying on the notes given.

- I am so excited to use this language while speaking with friends and history taking later on. In addition to that, I can catch a few words and even sentences whenever I heard Chinese people speak around me. Other than that, doing this project have filled my holiday with something valuable and useful, at the very least, later on.

- the most challenging part for me is to keep on track with the timetable as this is an online mandarin class and everything is up to me. Other than that, I need to keep memorizing and practice Chinese because if not, I might forget what I have learnt. Not to forget, I still find intonation is hard.

- I can now do a self-introduction in Chinese! Isn’t that great? I can as well ask a few questions in Chinese in relation to daily activities and health which dan be used later during a clinical history taking.

- Learning a new language in a class, physically, face-to-face with a teacher will help in learning much better, especially in correcting the pronunciation and intonation.
