         <description><![CDATA[<p>So much of bias is invisible.  We swim in our own soup and it is difficult to see. Thinking about what words we choose is huge.  I changed to saying  "your grown-up" instead of "your parents" to children.  Also talking about holidays and speaking about them as a choice that some families practice, renaming "Christmas Vacation" as "Winter Vacation"...endless ways to rethink what I was brought up to think that was "normal".</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>As a seasoned teacher, I know that if we are not careful to be fully inclusive, a small number of students will dominate all class discussions. To address this as an instructor, I frequently have students divide into small breakout groups, and then have a student from each group summarize what all the students said in the breakout groups. I will also ask students to write things out on small pieces of paper anonymously, and then collect those pieces of papers and read them aloud to recognize what all students have said.</p>]]></description>
