My mom would sit at the computer typing up a story that I was telling her because it was hard for me to type. I wrote a story about sisters who had dolphins as pets and lived in a house on the shore. When I was in 5th grade I wrote a story about a girl who was a ghost and traveled on school buses. I had folders full of papers with stories and ideas and drawings. I remember coming home from school and writing stories online on a story sharing website. I would write about the good times and the bad. I would write about boys, my stress about school, my parents. Basically anything and everything that was going on in my life. Journaling did a lot for me and it was a great way to vent and express myself. The best part about journaling was it allowed me to look back on my life and reflect on how much has changed for me. I loved the parallels between the animals and the Russian leaders. I realized how much I love Russian history because of Animal Farm. George Orwell depicted the Russian Revolution so well it helped me shape into the person I am today. The prompts were always so broad so it was so easy to express myself through my writing. It was difficult at times because I felt like I had to be somebody I wasn't to get into the schools I really wanted. But it was fun and interesting to challenge myself with the multiple topics we were able to write about. I enjoyed reading other peoples work and tried writing some on my own. It was hard because I had so many idea and stories I wanted to form into books but I never could.
