I chose this as one of my book snaps because I believe what I have underlined is a valuable lesson. " But the running boy is inside every man, no matter how old he gets ". I believe this quote relates to every man including myself because we all eventually have to grow up and have all of these responsibilities. But none the less, every man will always still have the young boy come out in them when they trackback to a time where they had no responsibility and were just young. But for Eddie it shows how he was reliving his child hood running through the old park he remembered as a kid.

I chose this chunk of text because it shows a powerful message about Eddie. Now I believe Eddie represents a type of person you don't see a lot. The type of person Eddie is that he's very selfless and tries to help out as many people as possible. For one example, he gave two twenty dollar bills to his coworker to get something for his wife. Another example is that, he saved a girls wife and took his own by pushing her away out from underneath the falling ride.

As Eddie is walking through heaven and talking with Joseph, Eddie had many questions of why he was in his childhood and why this amusement park was his version of heaven. Joseph told him to not ask all of his questions just yet. Eddie will be met by 5 people including Joseph who will teach him important lessons about his life and why he made those decisions. I can relate to this because I believe when you go up into heaven you will be greeted by some type of angels that will greet you and talk about all of your life decisions. I also believe that they will decide if you go to heaven.

Eddie was mind boggled when he first entered his version of heaven. There was only one man with a blue face that seem to be there and was talking to him. Eddie looked around and he saw that he was at Ruby Pier. But it was the Ruby Pier from when he was a little kid. The whole entire park was empty. So Eddie started questioning his existence and started talking at a million miles per hour. I can relate to this because theirs been times where I have felt like the only person in the world.

I chose this for one of my book snaps because it helps the reader understand through Eddie's own eyes how the war was when he got there. It shows Eddie doesn't like his memories from the war. He wishes he never even went. But the army taught him many things.

Just as Eddie and his crew are about the leave where they have been captured they decided to burn down all the buildings and blow up the mine shaft. But after they do that the bombs starts coming down but Eddie notices something out of the corner of his eye. It look like a person running into the barn which Eddie set on fire. Eddie started running towards the flaming fire with the flames growing higher each step he took. The captain saw Eddie's action and pulled his gun up and shot Eddie straight in the leg so Eddie could run no further. The captain did this to save Eddies life.

Once Eddie is shot in the leg, he, the captain, and the rest of the crew make a run for it toward a vehicle on a path. They load on Eddie making sure he doesn't lose as much blood as he already has and the captain runs up the path towards the bend to make sure it is all clear for them to take the car up. He signals them to come through and a plane flys overhead which makes the captain look up and without even looking he takes a step and 'click'. A landmine torn his body to shreds.

The lesson that the captain teaches, I believe is a good one to learn, because everyone, no matter who it is will have to sacrifice something at least once in their life. The captain sacrificed his life. Eddie sacrificed his leg. But Eddie at the time wasn't thinking that he learned anything from this. But know as the captain teaches him, he can finally see the truth behind it.

I chose this one for my book snaps because it helps the reader understand how Eddie's dad treated him when he was a younger kid. It shows that from a young age Eddie doesn't like his father because he remembers what his father did to him when he was little. He would leave Eddie at the Pier with the workers. While he would go to a bar and get drunk.

Eddie would get into fights behind alleyways and would come back home with bruised knuckles. His dad would say "what happened to the other kid"?. Instead of saying are you okay, or are you hurt. Its just another example on how Eddie's dad doesn't care about him.

Ruby used to work at a old diner that Eddie as a child would go into all the time. Ruby was an attractive girl that had a hard time finding a husband. Her family would always make fun of her for not finding anyone until now.

He drank more and more each day to help cope from what he saw in the war. He later died from alcohol poisoning and he had no remorse for how he died according to Ruby.

It was just like Eddie's idea of his wedding that did not happen. It reminded him of Marguerite which where her heaven was filled with fabulous weddings. He thought of Marguerite and all the love he had for her. That's what Eddie connected to.

I chose this to be apart of my book snaps because after he met the five people it brought him back to where the whole story started with him saving the little girl. It shows at the end what way you end up dying and you get to look at yourself in your own way. This helped Eddie realize that his life wasn't useless and he was put on the world for a reason.

I chose this to be apart of my book snaps because it helps the reader's realize that Eddie had such a deep love for Marguerite. They were perfect for each other and than Marguerite died. It devastated Eddie and he had no motivation to do much after that.
