As the country changes, laws and the interpretation of them also changes, thus a case that was decided 50 years ago can be overturned such as what happened with Roe v. Wade and abortion just recently.

It ended with Nixon and a man on the moon, but we'll get to that a bit later. Both men looked to accomplish great things and create a new society in the US where everyone got a fair chance. Strides were made, laws were passed, but as we can still see today, things weren't fixed, only improved from what they were like in the past.
