The benefits of arts education are something I've been thinking about for a long time, and creating access to the arts has been a driving force in my life. There is always time for art. I would venture to say most people use the lifelong skills obtained through the arts far more than other core subjects. I use creativity every day! I use math less often... One thing I've noticed is that when kids don't have access to the arts, they appreciate it a lot more when they do have even small experiences.

I teach science and I try to incorporate at least one art project with each unit because it makes the subject matter come to life for many of the kids.
