It is Jack the Ripper. His name, birth and nationality (probably London), are unknown  because the person is also unknown (it's called Jack, but it's just a "nickname"). 

It is famous because this is a murder case never solved, he just killed for no reason and the way he killed them was different and scary .  

It was made a movie about this case called: "From Hell";
He only killed hookers;

We can visit the places where Jack killed them;

Before the kill, he used to send a letter to the girl he was about to murder, and everytime with a different message.

People are afraid of it because Jack was a murderer, and the person was never discovered, so, we can't know his progeny and if they are out there.
