2. What have you done?

 I have attended my first online 3 hour  lecture class , the topic was about the introduction of the concept of accounting and the principle of accounts. After the lecture , I also did some notes and reading on the topic .

3. Points to remember from week 1!

·       The concept of the accounting 

·       The definition of assets , liabilities , revenue and expenses. 

·       The rules of double entry 

 

4. Your feelings & thoughts 

I am happy that the lecturer explained everything patiently and I was able to follow . However , I found it difficult to understand some of the accounting concept as I am still a beginner , especially the rules of double entry which made me very confuse. 

 

5. 1 good thing from what you did that you can practice now!

I can start to differentiate asset and liability in my daily life and read more about accounting .

 

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

Yes , I found it difficult to understand the double entry rules of accounting which is the fundamental of accounting . After the lecture , I spent some time on internet to do research and eventually I could roughly get the concept of it . However , I will ask the lecturer and confirm with her again during the next class .

I will continue to attend the lecture( bank book , sales & purchase journal ) and I will do some reading prior the class.

2. What have you done? 
As from my application form, I choose to learn cooking and baking skills via online platforms with the agency (PJJ class on Facebook). For 1st week, I review the recipes given by my supervisor via Facebook. There are 7 packages on this online cooking class which is divided into the basic pastry, basic cake decoration (birthday cake, Korean flower), basic bread & pizza, kuih muih and biskut raya. There are a lot of recipes with tutorial videos that have been posted in the group that is interesting to try. the instructor gives a very clear tutorial on how to perform every recipe from the basic. 

3. Points to remember from week 1! 
Since I watched a lot of recipes, I learned that the basic ingredients for the kuih muih are almost the same, so easy for me to try various recipes with the basic ingredients. For this week, I haven’t started any recipes yet, only review the pages and learn about the recipes. I also highlighted a few recipes that I can try during this posting. 

4. Your feelings & thoughts
I am excited to try the recipes after I finished reviews them and I feel confidence that I can do it well next week. 

5. 1 good thing from what you did that you could practice now! 
I learned a lot of recipes that are easy to do in my daily routine

I don’t have any difficulties so far.

8. Your plan for next week (Week 2) 
Since I already highlighted a few recipes that I would like to try, my plan for next week will be the  preparation of the ingredients (grocery shopping) and maybe I would try my first recipes which are kuih apam mekar.

I had learned sign language under Malaysian Federation of Deaf through open learning.This course can be accessed anytime at my own pace and I had to complete certain tasks given to be able to learn other topics. For week 1, I had learned about the introduction of sign language, alphabets and numbers and it was very interesting . Through these three topics, I had watched the videos provided , read the infographics , answered the quizzes to test my understanding and recorded my own videos spelling certain things using hand signs.

Starting learning sign language from day 1, the most important thing for me is repetition . This is because repetition can help me to be able to practise my own finger to use the sign much better and also help me to remember the signs easily.

I am so excited in learning this sign language because it is very interesting and I can understand the meaning of the signs used by the deaf.

Even only in the first week , I felt very happy because I was able to spell my own name using sign language. Even though my hand sign was not so fast and smooth for now, but I think this is a great achievement for myself because I was able to do it in my first week of learning sign language. Other than that , I also can tell my age and also my birthday date using a sign !

I just had an internet problem accessing the course because the internet coverage is so poor especially at night so I had to find a suitable time to learn especially during the morning because the internet connection is much better during that time.

Slowly and exciting.

2. What have you done?                                           For 1st week of elective posting, I have enroll in Facebook group which are PJJ Roti&Pizza and PJJ Biskut Raya Lejen. I managed to learn how to make a soft bun by using hand as I don't have any breadmaker machine. I just followed the steps and tips provided by the admin such as put butter in a room temperature before mixed with the flour, kneading the dough in correct technique and let the dough rest for 20 minutes. For PJJ Biskut Raya Lejen, I watched how to make Tart Nenas, Chocolate Chips and Walnut Crips.
 
 3. Points to remember from Week 1.
The points that I must remember are the basic ingredients to make a dough such as warm water, egg, sugar, butter, milk powder, protein flour and yeast. Also, the tips from the admin and suggestions from other followers in the group. Then, the technique to knead the dough like 'teknik lipat balik' for 15 minutes. For biskut raya lejen, I must know the accurate way to use the oven and the temperature to bake the cookies.

 4. My feelings and thoughts.
I felt so elated and enthusiastic because I able to learn to bake bread and cookies. I can fill up my time doing what I like.

5. One good thing from what you did that you can practice now?
For now, there are lot of recipes that I watched and can be done as I know the basic ingredients to make a dough.

For week 2, I will buy all the ingredients needed to make plain bun, korean garlic cheese, tuna pizza, tart nenas, chocolate chips and walnut crips
