You will need to gather the materials needed and find a seat somewhere in the classroom. You will then choose who will go first. 
The first person will then, using their M&M's, build a pattern without showing or telling the other person what it is.
(The pattern must have at least 3 sequences, but no more than 6.) 
Your partner will then figure out the rule   for the arithmetic sequence, using their white boards as needed.
 When they have figured out the correct rule then you can switch and have the other person create their own pattern with the other one figuring out the rule.
This should be done in 30 minutes.
