She worked for years at the instituto de astro física de Canarias until she moved to Sweden where she obtained her degree as a doctor of nuclear physics with a fellowship called Marie Curie. She developed new tools for the investigation of the effects of proton irridationof living cells with low doses. She also did a postdoc in the university of Bergen and another one at University of Umea and she was an investigator invited in the Centro de nacional de Hadronterapia Oncologica one of the two European centres where they provide radiotherapy with protons and iones of carbon. In between that period of time she dedicated to cancer research in pre clinical and clinical projects giming experience in the search for biomarkers in magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, proton emission tomography, ultra sound and histology.
