         <description><![CDATA[<p>Employment Insurance (EI) is a program provide by the government that provides a temporary income for people who are unemployed and are currently looking for a job. </p><p><br></p><p>Canada pension plan (CPP) is a retirement pension that replaces part of the income when retired. The CPP program will pay you a part of an income for the rest of your life after retirement </p><p><br></p><p>The Old Age Security (OAS) program is a universal retirement pension available to most residents and citizens of Canada who have reached 65 years old. This pension is supplemented by the Guaranteed Income Supplement, which is added to the monthly OAS payment for seniors with lower incomes</p><p><br></p><p>Disability Benefits from the Government: Offers money to help you and your eligible family members with living expenses, including food and rent. </p><p><br></p><p>Social assistance programs are available for people with food or housing insecurity. Individuals must apply and be approved to receive help.  </p><p><br></p><p>Safety net programs for Canadians are effective. If an individual is eligible for a program and does not abuse the benefits, these programs are typically positive and helpful to citizens.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>El: Provides temporary income for unemployed workers while they look for employment or to upgrade their skills. This also includes special circumstances such as maternity leave, paternity leave, caring for a newborn or newly adopted child, caring for a critically injured or ill person.</p><p>-EI benefits only qualify&nbsp; to workers who paid premiums in the the past year, meaning they pay above the going rate of their insurance. EI also applies to self-employed people.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>CPP: By investing assets not needed to pay pension and benefits, CPP helps to create retirement plans and security to ensure you live stress free. </p><p>-Guided and managed by an Independent Board of Directors</p><p>-Operates directly to and with the federal/provincial government</p><p>-Focused on minimizing risk for the elderly of Canada, CPP maximizes returns in order to guarantee a stable foundation for retirement</p><p>Example: Intact Investment Management Inc.</p><p><br></p><p>OAS: &nbsp;Is an old age security pension plan which is made available to seniors 65 and older who meet the legal status and residence requirements. You can apply</p><p>for the pension plan even if you have never worked before.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>- If you are living in Canada, you must:</strong></p><ul><li><p>be 65 years old or older</p></li><li><p>be a Canadian citizen or a legal resident at the time we approve your OAS pension application</p></li><li><p>have resided in Canada for at least 10 years since the age of 18</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p>Social Assistance Programs: Each province has a number of<strong> Social Assistance programs</strong> for people who are disadvantaged. By design, it is intended to be used as a “last resort” for those who have exhausted all other options. There are a number of eligibility criteria to determine if one should get social assistance: these include things like income and assets. Social assistance programs provide shelter and food, also assisting with living expenses.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Disability Benefits From the Government: Government gives 12250 dollars to disabled Canadians. The government also gives resources to disabled Canadians. For example, If a citizen is deaf they will give sign language interepatiton. Also they give money to help you and your eligible family members with living expenses, including food, and rent. </p>]]></description>
