Another weakness of the Articles of Confederation is that there was no national court system or judicial branch. This meant there was no Supreme Court, or any supreme order in the nation. It all boiled down to local courts, which in most cases, did not have enough funding.

Congress had no power to regulate trade

Another weakness with the Articles of Confederation was that Congress did not have the ability to regulate trade. With no executive power in place, neither did the head of state. This meant that trade was either not prevalent or existent in the nation, or too many exports/imports were sent and received.

Changes to the Articles would require unanimous consent from the 13 states

A final weakness the Articles had was that if changes were to be made to the document, consent derived from the 13 states would be required and unanimous (fully in agreement). Because of the divisive nature of the Articles, this could be nearly impossible to reach.
