How might M-Learning reduce barriers to education?
M learning allows students to use their plethora of mobile devices to do things that might help them stay organized and learn on the go and other otherwise inconvenient settings. M-Learning follows the learner. It is a Swiss army knife of learning. This means that this is a tool for learning and a tool for change. One specific way that M learning reduces barriers is by providing material when the school doesn't have resources such as books. Also gamifying the learning process can be easily done through M-Learning which can make learning more fun.

Where are there principles of E-Learning
Modality principle: In the beginning you see a character narrating information rather than displaying it as words.
Redundancy principle: There are now words to go along with narration so as not to create cognitive overload.
Coherence principle: Everything on the website is easy to follow. There is no unnecessary information that can otherwise clutter the website.
Segmenting principle: MOOC breaks down lessons into manageable parts or "chunks". This makes it easier to retain information. Also the student sees the part that they need to get through and can see the goal without wondering when it will be over.

Other pedagogical practices?
The MOOC makes use of learning goals and places a focus on pre-assessment.
They also have reflection activities after certain lessons. Inquiry is done through posing questions and providing additional resources through links.

How might m-learning reduce barriers to education?

-- people can study and learn from wherever they are, they do not need to attend a school

-- all people have access to various tools and resources that can only be found online or are very hard to access through books and libraries, etc

-- learning is also more interactive and collaborative as teachers and students teach and learn from one another

* My experience with m-learning is very beneficial as I can access the tool from anywhere as long as I have Wi-Fi, I find it more interactive as we collaborate and teach one another about the new tool we are all just getting used to.
