  • Do all animals eat the same number of different things? What about the same mass of things? Why, why not? (see the 'advanced' food web at the bottom of this page)
  • Catfish and kōura have arrows pointing both ways between them, what might this mean?
  • Do phytoplankton and macrophytes eat the sun? If not, how do they get their energy from it?
  • Does something at the top of the food web eat everything below it? E.g. do humans eat zooplankton? 
  • Can you think of any other ways that these species may interact? (Examples include: competition, helping eachother, being parasites...)
