It should have diverse resources. Lots of vocab walls! Lots of pictures to support! Reading! Writing! Thinking! Discussing! The whole time.

Students should be able to differentiate the technical and colloquial meaning of a word. For example, the word spread has many different meanings. In Statistics, it means dispersion or variability.

I think a language rich class class is one that communicates in a way that no one feels like the lesson or subject does not relate to them. I think the communication process should be such that no one feels talked down to or their opinions aren’t respected.

A language rich class should feel like every attempt is made to meet people where they are. For example I try to either use translator or my limited Spanish understanding to relate to the Tovar sisters
