An EDM artist who has been producing since 1998 and has influenced my sound engineering career thanks to the wide range of styles he's known for, especially his earliest work under the stage name "Halcyon 441" (Video linked below). My first time seeing Deadmau5 was at a carnival back in California and it was insane to see the creativity of his live sets. His influence to me is driven from his personality and and approach to making music as a whole. A dream of mine would be having the opportunity to be signed to his record label "Mau5trap" with many other outstanding artists such as "i_o" and Jay Robinson. Two of his most inspirational albums to me that he's produced so far would have to be "Random Album Title" and "4x4=12". Both of these albums capture quality use cord progression and complex synthesizers that I hope to one day master. As of now, Deadmau5 has helped me reach a goal as an artist to produce quality rather than quantity.

Being more of a New-School Hip-Hop style rapper, I enjoy Post Malone for his lyricism and creative style. Out of the 2 times I've seen him live, each time was very amazing and crazy to see how much he has changed from 2015 to 2021. His music has also helped out with getting through school and tougher times throughout my life. In his early years, Post Malone always wanted to become more of a rockstar rather than a hip-hop artist.

The artist known as Calvin Harris has had a major impact on me from producing to creative music style. As far back as 2007, Harris has been created EDM style music for many to enjoy. In recent years, Harris has created a new project under the alias name "Love Regeneration" producing Acid House. Personally, I believe that the acid house scene has been so much more inspirational to me rather than the radio and more mainstream side of Calvin Harris that he's known for.

Lorin Ashton, better known as Bassnectar, has a heavy impact of punk-style/rave music in the community of song writers, Ashton was first into metal, but eventually broadened his underground tastes and merged into the rave scene. This led Ashton to create wild and insane music that many can't even put into a specific genre. He mentions that "I’m just trying to create a soundtrack for people to freak out in. It’s simply natural expression" (Lorin Ashton, 2009) The meaning behind his name comes from an old bumper sticker from the 90's stating "Butterfly beings drink bassnectar". Bassnectar himself is a huge inspiration to not just deadmau5 but to myself as well.

Where to begin. This duo has has an insane impact on the house and techno scene ever since the release of their singles "Da Funk" and "Around the World". The two artists, who's names have been confirmed to be Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, meet in Paris while attending high school. Before the techno, the two briefly preformed in a metal band known as "Darlin". The two then went on to create multiple album and worked on the sound track for the Disney movie "TRON: Legacy" The song "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" was such a hit that it was sampled by non-other than Kanye West himself.

Sonny Moore, stage name Skrillex, motivated the scene of dubstep and electronica to more of a known culture rather than an underground sub-genre. Sonny began his musical career as the head signer of the screamo band "From First to Last". His career kick started by making dubstep "different" when compared to other artists of that genre at the time by implying rock and other metal attributes to the mix. An example of his early work would be a single called "Get Up!" with the heavy metal band "Korn". His popularity in the music scene landed him big opportunities such as creating the soundtrack for the motion picture "Wreck it Ralph" and dating pop star Ellie Goulding. Although skrillex did not become as rich and famous as other Djs, he has won an outstanding six Grammys!

Bob Dylan, who's original name is Robert Allen Zimmerman, was an American folk singer who transitioned into rock music during the 60's. Bob Dylan was a symbol back in the 60's contributing to inspiration, style, and achievements. Dylan was perceived as a singer of protest songs and "a politically charged artist with a whole other agenda" (Al Cooper, 1999). In the year 1965, Dylan produced an album which involved electronic instruments, which is frowned upon in folk culture. This decision cased many of Dylans folk fans to decrease while is rock fans grew by the numbers. Dylan was an inspiration for many by showing others that making music is solely based on what you wanna do and not what others want to hear.

They produced a wide range of music during the time of their career which was the reason to their everlasting support from fans and even after their career. The term "nirvana" in Buddhism is most commonly used to refer to the religion’s ultimate spiritual goal of attaining a state of enlightenment which releases one from the cycle of reincarnation (Briony Edwards, June 14, 2018). Nirvana was so inspirational that they didn't just inspire other rock bands but many DJs and entrepreneurs as well.
