The major challenge I face as a physical education teacher is implementing a quality physical education program and curriculum. The biggest obstacle include others viewing the physical education environment as a baby-sitting arena or a dumping ground. Unfortunately, this automatically creates supervision issues and chaos within my classroom. Therefore, this becomes extremely difficult to manage. Most importantly, I am very understanding within these disturbances but it definitely becomes frustrating when you're trying to implement a high quality program. However, I am a team player and I'll continue to remain flexible and do whatever is asked.

Another challenge I face as a physical education teacher is the lack of space. We have the smallest gymnasium in the district and with the class sizes, the area is very crowded. Therefore, it is very difficult to perform most activities inside. This is an issue because the weather doesn't always permit to take your class outside. I think if we had more space, less accidents would occur. It also becomes difficult for 6th grade students to understand that it's not a great idea to chase one another inside of this confined environment because of safety issues.
