Not unlike Violet, Titus and his friend think they can “game” the system by playing along with the feed’s rules and get an unlimited supply of Coke. However, they end up just playing into the feed’s promotional scheme.

Furthermore, notice that riot gear has become hip and fashionable, suggesting not only that people are ignorant about the history of violent riots in America, but that corporations have co-opted populist unrest across America by branding it and selling it as fashionable

Moreover, The novel makes us believe that the characters are living in an ultra-capitalist society, when, in reality, they are living in a dictatorship run by the Feed, the Feed rules the people’s minds and wants them to forget the past and focus on consuming, They live in a dystopia, but the only one who realises this is Violet. She ends up dead, with further supports the point that they are living in a dystopian society. He aims to warn the readers to not fall in the claws of technology and live life full of emotions and real experiences.

Apathy is the emotion that corporations aim to produce in their consumers, and as a result it has become the default emotional state of the characters in Feed. Titus and his friends coast through life, spending all their money on obscenely expensive products and exotic vacations. And yet, instead of being excited by all these new trips and purchases, Titus and his friends seem to be almost constantly bored.

In this chapter, Anderson portrays the themes of emotions to show how, as Violet and his parents weren’t born with the Feed, they have the emotions that Titus and the people around him lack. By living the moment and not seeking instant gratification, they are different to the rest.Furthermore, Anderson portrays the themes of class and segregation with Violet. When she is just being herself, Titus’ friends are jerky about it and feel superior to her, when in reality, Violet is the one that is superior as she is clearly more intelligent than anyone in the group and is capable of experiencing feelings and emotions.
