Our indigenous crafts are fading because of the excessive use of machinery. Small business that still do the indigenous crafts are starting to shut down because no one wants to buy such expensive things in the can get it in the market for a lot cheaper. If a handmade ajrak costs 20,000 rupees to make then you can just buy one for only 200 rupees, it's a much faster process to make it and much easier. So the ones made by machines typically cost less because of the lack of workers working there.

we can help preserve indigenous art, heritage and craftsmanship by having some more people interested into the art by requesting some journalists to come pay a visit, make a video and upload it on social media to get more attention drawn to the hand arts, then more people will be interested into looking in the art and even supporting it.

The ideas that I can think of to help the skilled crafts man survive poverty and hunger is to upload videos about them, collaborate with other people that have a big platform such as insider and other channels that would be interested into making and uploading videos to raise awareness so the valuable craft doesn't die out.

The people doing such businesses have their own unique style of making the product. Which takes a lot of time and hard work and it makes their handy craft special. However, they have to suffer as well in terms of the lack of education and it makes it harder for them to cooperate with advanced technology. As their is an advance in technology more and more new crafts have been created so they (the people who can't cooperate) with this change have to suffer as the product's demand may go down

The handicraft industry is significantly contributing to income and employment generation as well as economic and social sustainability of Pakistan.The Pakistan produces extensive variety of crafts such as textile, embroidery, beadwork, block printing, patchwork, woodcrafts, pottery,jewelry, stone carving, etc. The traditional crafts are produced extensively in all provinces of Pakistan, mostly in rural areas. The handicrafts from different parts of country have their ownuniqueness, the shape, color, and type of handicraft very beautifully represents thespecialty of the region. Pakistani handicrafts are considered highly valuable in western countries and the customers abroad are willing to pay any price for them. The handicraft industry suffers a lot because of the lack of education, poor exposure to new technologies. Artisans often lack skills in technology and now that most of the business is based on digital marketing they cannot cooperate with new technologies. They are facing increasing competition from mills, organized units, and factories. Industrialization has changed the lifestyles and needs of people which has resulted in handicrafts losing their demand and importance. Artisans lack innovation in designs because they don’t have sufficient knowledge of modern designs . As a result, they are unable to meet the changing requirements of customers. Also because of the imports from China it is harder for them to compete because they are cheaper.

The handicraft artisans are people who have their own styles , designs and ideas of doing art in a unique style. These people are very hardworking as they make handicrafts with neatness.
Many traditional items, handicrafts, heritage and craftsmanship are dying and the new generation do not know much about it due to technological developments and modernization. The handicraft artisans suffer a lot of problems due to being unorganized, lack of education, low capital, poor exposure to new technologies, absence of market intelligence and a poor institutional framework.
I think that before these handicrafts die we should spread awareness by Social media, make a vlog in which people are explaining the problems faced by those people and that make people realize about the hardworking handicrafts artisans and they might cooperate.
