I learned that in a fraction of a second the brain signals motor nerves, triggering precise movement; such as Matt's hands on the controls.

I found this to be really interesting because precise movement occurs a lot faster than I thought. If our motor nerves took longer than the above time, it could change the out come on how efficient we are to our reaction and action. The slit deviation could have changed Matt's end results on his rescue mission.

The fact that the brain goes into survival mood after an extended time is extraordinary. If the brain wouldn't have ordered the sweating to stop for Mathew and Shannon, their sweat glands would have used up all their available water in their body and it may have lead to their death.
