A short term impact of me deciding to go with my parents to the hospital is that we could've gotten to the hospital slower than the ambulance would have taken us and I could have possibly been treated later than I needed.

A possible long term impact of my decision of going to the hospital with my parents is that in the case of emergency I could go to my parents in the face of trouble instead of another authoritative figure, no matter where I am.

Was This The Smartest Thing to Do?

In my opinion, this was the right decision was made because, as a kid I thought going with the ambulance was a risk of never being separated from my parents and in the book it was "Research by psychologists shows that we pay most attention to the risks that are right in front of us" (Short Term and Long Term Impacts 8).

Another reason this was the smartest decision is that it has become my routine, I go to my parents before anyone else. Family relationships are important and I am glad it became a routine. "If we establish patterns of behavior we just routinely follow, we don’t have to think" (Short Term and Long Term Impacts 9). I have established a "pattern of behavior" or routine, and i am really happy going t my family for help has become a routine. This is why I know the smart decision was made.
