Hello everyone!! I am Binshi Ghelani. I recently moved from Apollo International School to the international baccalaureate career programme. I have opted for business administration, phycology, economics and English. The main reason? I plan to study in the USA after 12th, and I felt like IB would prepare me better for that. It’s a bit intense, but I figured if I’m going to chase something big, I might as well start now.

HOW I AM !

I’m more of an introvert not the “awkward silence” kind, but the type who observes, listens, and takes time before jumping in. I like understanding people, even if I don’t talk much at first. And once I’m comfortable, I enjoy working in a group, sharing thoughts, and being part of something collaborative.

Creativity is something I naturally lean towards whether it’s in the way I express myself, solve problems, or come up with ideas. I enjoy adding a unique touch to the things I do, even if it’s something simple. also I love playing volleyball.

PERSONAL STUFF!

I don’t have a lot of personal things to share, but if I had to pick something, I’d say my favorite part of the day is my evening coffee and gym(with music). It’s just a small part of my routine, but I really enjoy that time. It keeps me steady and gives a little pause to everything else going on.

LASTLY!

I wouldn’t describe myself as super self-motivated all the time. But when I care about something and I often do I put in the effort quietly and consistently, even if I don’t announce it to the world.

I’m excited to grow through this class, learn new skills, and maybe even surprise myself along the way.

This letter also reminded me to reduce distractions, especially using my phone too much, and to create a better environment for studying. I felt calm and motivated after writing it because it made me promise myself that I will take small steps to improve every day. Overall, it helped me reflect on my goals and encouraged me to become more responsible, focused, and positive in my daily life.

Review:
MOM: Mission Over Mars is a powerful and inspiring series based on India’s Mars Orbiter Mission. It focuses on the dedication, intelligence, and teamwork of the scientists, especially the women, who were an important part of this achievement. The story shows how they handle technical problems, strict deadlines, and their personal responsibilities while remaining committed to their mission.

The series clearly highlights values like determination, hard work, and cooperation. It challenges stereotypes by portraying women as strong and capable leaders in the fields of science and space research. Overall, it is very motivating and helps the audience understand the discipline, effort, and persistence needed to accomplish such an important scientific milestone.

Reflection:
After watching MOM: Mission Over Mars, I felt inspired and proud of India’s accomplishments in space exploration. The series made me realize how important teamwork, consistency, and perseverance are in achieving success. I was particularly inspired by the women scientists who managed both their personal lives and professional challenges with confidence and strength. It taught me that with dedication and belief in oneself, any obstacle can be overcome and big dreams can be achieved.

Various teams presented budget plans for different sectors such as Aviation, Agriculture, Sports, and Energy. Each team explained how they would allocate funds to develop their sector and support the nation’s growth. Every group had unique priorities, which highlighted how challenging it is to balance different needs while planning a national budget. Some teams focused more on long term development, while others concentrated on solving immediate issues.

Through this event, I learned that budgeting requires thoughtful decision making because resources are limited. It also emphasized the importance of teamwork, research, and confidence while presenting ideas to an audience. Overall, the Budget Talk was a valuable learning experience that helped me understand how economic planning connects to real life and how government decisions impact different sectors and the country’s development as a whole.

Working on the SWOT analysis of Sweet Dreams helped me understand how businesses evaluate themselves and plan for improvement. The interview gave us real insights into the brand’s strengths, like quality fabrics and loyal customers, as well as challenges such as limited reach and strong competition. Preparing the presentation also helped me build teamwork and communication skills, as we had to collect information, discuss ideas, and organise everything clearly. Overall, this task showed me how SWOT analysis is a practical tool that helps companies grow and make better decisions.

Me along with my classmates made these emotional jars for teachers day. Each emotional jars contains six emotions each, and each one of them have six different quotes or message for each emotion. The idea behind the jars was to remind the teachers that every emotion- anger, sadness, anxiety, happiness, gratitude and loneliness is valid and meaningful. Whenever they feel a certain way they can a pick a quote from the jar to lift their mood. It was our way of showing appreciation and gratitude for all the emotions and effort they experience while teaching.

Writing a letter to myself was a meaningful and thoughtful activity. This activity helped me think about my habits and how I manage my time. Writing a letter to myself made me more aware of my strengths and the areas I need to improve. It reminded me that staying consistent and focused is important for reaching my goals. Overall, it encouraged me to be more disciplined while also being patient with myself.

The comparison charts helped me see these differences clearly and showed how misunderstandings can easily break a deal, while cultural awareness can strengthen partnerships. Overall, this task taught me that diversity is not a challenge but an advantage, and understanding cultural expectations is essential for successful international business.

What inspires me most about her is her fearlessness. Even in the face of danger, she continued to lead her army and protect her people. She showed that true leaders do not give up when situations become difficult. Her confidence and strong willpower allowed her to stand against a powerful empire, which makes her story even more inspiring.

Rani Lakshmibai’s life teaches me the importance of resilience and responsibility. She faced many challenges but never allowed them to defeat her spirit. Her dedication toward her country and her people motivates me to stay strong during hardships and work sincerely toward my goals.

She reminds me that courage is not the absence of fear but the ability to act despite it. I hope to develop her qualities of bravery, determination, and leadership so that I can face challenges confidently and make a positive difference in the future.

Through this activity, I learned that a significant portion of the budget is used for essential commitments like interest payments and support to state governments, which ensures the functioning of the entire system. I also understood the importance of investing in development sectors such as infrastructure, education, and social welfare to promote long-term economic growth and improve quality of life.

Designing the poster required me to organize information clearly and present it in a visually engaging way, which strengthened my research, thinking, and communication skills. It also made me realize how government decisions about spending priorities directly affect national progress and citizens’ well-being.

Overall, this assignment increased my awareness of public finance and the importance of responsible budgeting at a national level. It showed that effective financial planning is essential not only for individuals but also for the stability and development of a country.

I realized that a large portion should go toward needs, because everyday expenses like transport and school supplies are unavoidable. Setting aside money for savings made me understand the importance of preparing for emergencies and future purchases rather than relying on others later. Allocating a smaller amount for wants taught me self-control and prioritizing what I truly enjoy instead of impulsive spending. Including a giving category also reminded me to be responsible and considerate of others.

Overall, this activity helped me develop financial awareness, decision-making skills, and responsibility. It showed me that budgeting is not just about limiting spending but about managing money wisely to achieve both short-term satisfaction and long-term security.

Chanakya emphasized that true power lies in knowledge and self-discipline, not in wealth or appearance.

He advised keeping personal secrets guarded and choosing friends with caution, as trust must be earned.

Chanakya discovered Chandragupta as a gifted child and trained him in leadership and strategy.

He taught that a ruler must be wise, disciplined, and sometimes ruthless to protect the kingdom.

Using alliances, and military tactics, Chanakya helped Chandragupta overthrow the corrupt Nanda dynasty when he was just 20-21 years old.

Chanakya’s teachings on strategy, discipline, and leadership are still vital for modern governance and business.

He believed in smartly done hard work. I, myself have learned a lot from Radhakrishnan Pillai's book on Corporate Chanakya on management that I'm currently reading.

Reflection- Teachers, who are builders of our future, can shape us to become a better person in life. I sharpened my communication skills and worked on how actually a speech should be made. I witnessed my peer's speeches and learned about the teachers who are an inspiration for them. Learning about greatest teachers of the world, made us realize the importance of respecting and being grateful towards the teachers around us.

My ATL skills were social and communication since I needed to communicate in a polite manner and get along with my group. Self-management skills were also applied as I needed to be organised and responsible during the visit.

This practice was linked to the Learner Profile in that I struggled to be the caring learner by acknowledging the teachers and communicator by associating with them. On the whole, the activity also taught me to be empathetic and communicate to others in a more attentive way because even a small act of kindness can make them feel important.

Business culture in the United States generally emphasises efficiency and direct communication. Meetings are expected to be focused, time-conscious and results-oriented. Participants often express opinions openly and decisions may be made quickly, especially when authority is clear. Delayed responses or overly formal behaviour can be seen as lack of confidence. When partners match this straightforward style and come prepared with clear proposals, discussions tend to move rapidly toward agreement.

3. France
In France, business discussions often involve detailed analysis and intellectual debate. Participants may question ideas critically to test their strength rather than to show disagreement. Formality and professionalism are important, especially in initial interactions. Decisions can take time because careful evaluation is valued over speed. Foreign partners who present logical arguments and show respect for structure usually gain credibility and trust.

4. South Korea
South Korean business culture places importance on hierarchy and respect for seniority. Decisions are typically influenced by top management, even if junior staff attend meetings. Building a cooperative relationship is essential before major agreements are reached. Communication may be indirect in order to maintain harmony and avoid conflict. Understanding these dynamics helps foreign partners navigate discussions more effectively and prevents misunderstandings.

5. Australia
In Australia, business interactions are generally informal yet professional. Titles and strict hierarchies are less emphasised, and open discussion is encouraged. Partners appreciate honesty, clarity and a practical approach to problem-solving. Excessive formality or aggressive sales tactics may be viewed negatively. When communication is straightforward and cooperative, negotiations tend to proceed smoothly and efficiently.

He teaches me the value of discipline and honesty. I have learned from him that success does not come easily, and we must stay focused on our goals. He also encourages me to believe in myself and never give up. His support makes me feel strong and confident.

In the future, I want to become a person like him, kind, successful, and respected. That is why my brother is my true role model and an inspiration in my life.

The central idea of his philosophy was built on ethics, respect, and harmony. He believed education should not just be about memorizing facts, but about shaping character and inspiring critical thinking.

From him, we learn the importance of lifelong learning, humility, and respect.

Personally, I am deeply influenced by his belief in discipline and continuous self-improvement. His ideas motivate me to work hard in my studies, to stay humble even when I succeed, and to respect my teachers, parents, and friends. I try to follow his principle that leadership comes from fairness and responsibility, which helps me take ownership of my actions. Whenever I feel discouraged, his teachings remind me that true strength lies in knowledge, kindness, and moral values. He has inspired me to become a better version of myself each day, to treat people with compassion, and to focus on growth rather than comparing myself with others.

Even today, Confucius continues to guide us to live with balance, spread kindness, and build a more harmonious world.

Anchoring helped me improve my communication skills and taught me the importance of voice modulation, clear pronunciation, and positive body language. I learned how to stay calm under pressure and handle unexpected situations confidently. This experience pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me realise that I am capable of doing more than I usually believe.

At the same time, working on the film gave me a chance to develop my creative and technical skills. I was involved in shooting different clips and later editing them to create a meaningful final product. Through this process, I understood the value of teamwork, patience, and proper time management. It also made me more responsible, as I had to ensure that my work contributed effectively to the overall success of the event.

Overall, Ampersand 2.0 helped me grow personally and academically. It increased my self-confidence, improved my presentation skills, and encouraged me to take part in more activities in the future. I felt proud to see the final outcome and to know that my efforts played an important role in making the event successful.
