Depending on what you're trying to do, embedding fonts or outline fonts would be best. Ex. If you're looking for a more "simple" process with getting "through software settings", then embedding fonts would be best for you because an outline font would be an irreversible process unless you do some extra steps to make sure your work is saved.

Embedding fonts ensures that your design looks the same no matter what device you're in but it can increase the size of your file which can sometimes be a problem. Outlining fonts guarantees that the text will appear just how it looks like in any device even if the font is not available in the device, but it doesn't let you edit it after you're done with it and if you want to make changes then you'll have to restart all over again. - Sismai G.

Embedding fonts is simple to use and non-destructive. Its also great for long pieces of text. Outlining fonts however are also simple to use but destructive unless you have another copy. Instead of using it for long pieces of text its better to do the opposite.

Embedding fonts is great for big projects with tons of writing, while outlining fonts is perfect for smaller tasks.
