Her mom owns a small doll shop that they can barely afford. Caymen is her mom's assistant in the shop and helps out when she doesn't have school. One day while working, Xander Spence, a rich and very attractive boy, walks in. This is were their romance begins. They hangout more and more as their friendship continues to grow. Xander begins to develop feelings for her and she begins to feel the same way. The only thing that is stopping her from being with him is her mother. Her mom does not like rich people because her own parents kicked her out when she became pregnant abandoning her for the lure of money. Caymen is a shy 17 year old girl but can also be very sarcastic. Her dad left her and her mom when she was born. Caymen and her mom run a doll shop that they live above. Caymen meets Xander there and slowly starts to fall in love.
Xander is a rich, seemingly  "perfect" boy. He is very nice even though Caymen first thought that he would be stuck up and rude. They can barely afford to keep the shop open and struggle with the bills every month. This puts a lot of stress on both of them. They never solve this problem because Caymen's mom becomes sick. (person vs. society)
#2: The second conflict is that Caymen likes Xander and wants to be with him but her mom doesnt trust rich people. Caymen's mom does not accept Xander at first but eventually comes around to him. (person vs. person)
#3: The third conflict involves Caymen's mom getting sick and ending up in the hospital. This is a problem because no one is there to look after the shop besides Caymen who is only 17. This conflict isn't resolved in this book because the story ends. She eventually comes around to liking him towards the end of the story.
