         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Introduction</strong><br>Our focus this year is to reflect on well being in our subject department and to prepare a statement of wellbeing to include in our subject department plan.<br><br><strong>Related school- wide initiatives.</strong><br>This related directly to our SSE for this academic year.<br><br><strong>What does it mean for Business Studies</strong><br>In our department we support the wellbeing of students through teaching and learning approaches that help them feel confident, connected and actively engaged in their learning and gives them a sense of achievement. <br><br>We use learner centered teaching and learning methodologies which help to develop key skills in areas which are important for wellbeing. <br><br>We foster positive relationships in the classroom and try to create a climate in which our students feel safe and secure. <br><br><strong>Classroom Strategies in Action<br><br></strong>We encourage active and collaborative team learning through group work and think, pair and share peer assessments etc<br>we display students work on notice boards in our classrooms to give them a sense of accomplishment. We also use the visualiser where appropriate.<br>Each teacher has their own classroom <br>We encourage the students to bring in relevant material , articles etc they have come across<br>Students present group work to build their confidence in presenting and to practice protocols for listening to each other. <br><br>The close relationships in our dept also supports.<strong><br><br></strong><br></div>]]></description>
