Collection about movement, It was very hard to approach the theme trough drawing or draws in general.
Since the collection being photographic It was easier to document it, with all the help and técnicas of the camera.
Through drawing, I had 3 different Approaches.
1: Using a spray can, with a mask (to spray) a drawing. The ideia was that the ink in the spray would represent this movement on the mask about movement.
2: Making an overlaid image with nanquim in an A3, the image was a flipbook I made with photos and the reason It would be overlaid, was to try making the concept ir the visual caothic of an animation. I couldnt complete this task.
3: Making actual movement with the draw. I took a photo in a circus of a bailerina, spinning on a string attached to the seeling, i drew It and made it to look it the same, I attached a string to the seeling and rotated creating movement. I painted her with different colors on the sides to give more the feeling of movement.

I wasnt the best at time management, i couldnt complete all the ideas i set for myself.

Feedback
I got only feedback for my bailerina draw, that it was nice how it replicated the movement, and it were different colours.

Today's Presentation decisions can be divided in 3 topics that are core to make It possible and visualy good.
1: Place
- The Place for my movement Collection were the stairs, that go round and upwards. I choose it because they could represent more movement by making the viewer gradually looking it time upper to know what the pictures were. So your head would make a movement and it would be easier to understand and construct the image of a movement in the head of the viewer.

2: Material
The material of the Collection is of course the core of the hole presentation, without it, it wouldnt be a collection at all.

Alphabet on everyday things
The exercise in place was to take pictures of all the letters within a space. There were letters very hard to get, so the two mains techniques were, moving yourself to another angle trying to see something, and croping the image to show a better result of the letter. Another important thing were letters that are very similar and equal but flipped or inverted , like: m/w, n/z, H/I, H/T. It went really well, because there were very clear letters that could be reused to another, that got the same clear reading.

3 Variants "N"

 1. Silkscreen
The process of this project didnt go very well, the mask of my custom "N" wasn't centered o the sheet. But the colors were still good. It would be even better if the draw was centered.

2. Stencil
The stencil project went very well, because of the freedom to use both, the mask and the stencil, I made several prints with a ton of difference and visualy interesting, because when something didnt go quite right, i used either form, the mask or the stencil, and looked quite interesting. Just simply rotating, changing colors, changing the orientation and overlaping the same draw, had a great outcome.

The exercise to make a typo was very challenging, but trying to mescle the ideia of balencing and the letters, i tried something light and that can be connected, and the final outcome was visually interesting.

3.

Poster
First of all, I tried to make a collage about the theme in my protest, since It was all about balance, i tried to turn the poster into the ideia of the yin yang, because It is the symbol that represents internal peace and that the logo itself had some kind of symetry for itself, and I tried to make It the same with my poster.
I found a image of two models boxing, but with suits and blank/empty faces, the image itself was shot with another angle, that looked like a circle that reminded me of the yin yang symbol. So I made with that and attached other two photos with the same color scheme and organized them to follow the circle that the boxers created just to make a symmetry.
It went really well and the symmetry was visible and visually interesting, but the relation to the theme still felt a little distant, because it was not an easy relation to make.
I tried to make 3 different renders of the poster as well to see if It changed something.

My being still about balance, i thought about making a stencil with the silhuetts of the two boxers in a circle with their gloves in a different color, with the phrase:
"RESPECT
REFLECT
BALANCE"
To remind that it is all about the theme still. But I still thought that the two boxers were still a little confusing to make the connection within inner balance, só Isso went with the yin yang symbol with the phrase, and it went very well, It was simple and easy to understand what it was about.

I had some ideias but it were all much easier to experiment with all the materials first then to try and have ideias to put in the Sketch book. My first thought for filters were How they managed colors so o wanted something to change It like that i tried a lot of methods, putting celofane papers to the camera, making a round portrait with tubes with cuts and coloured papers on it, but it didnt work as intended It kept getting too dark or the colours wouldnt appear.
But I tried to make with a material more transparent, i got a plastic ink tube and putted some coloured tape to the inside and outside of It, trying to make a filter that worked with colours and as a portrait.

The Second was to take out something from the image , i took the silhuett of one person from a two person conversation to give the ideia of that the person use now absent from that conversation forever. The Third one was to knit more images together, i knited another fantasy and kinda of mashup with the structers and played with the scales and orientation of the image. The fourth and last one was supposed to make a lot of different methods to the image, this one I really just tried to make something visually interesting but ended up pretty happy with the final outcome.

In this theme we had more freedom and time to create something, read the briefing and several references I already knew. I decided to make an animation as the end result of your weeks project. Since I already have a little practice on animation, I decided to do a little animation in a loop, so that it repeats many times and my work is smaller in doing something big, but it has more quality since it is smaller. I left the Stopmotion talk that we had when the briefing was exposed. My idea referred to the theme of transformation, because with that the theme in loop could be more used, since the transformation is something that can be repeated and done only once. Less work on more quality.

I explored the idea of further transformation, and realized that I was able to use a principle of animation in the book I rented in Richard Williams' library, "Animators Survival Kit," the principle itself, called "Smear" in which it is the part of transition from one form to another, or used as velocity in the action shown.
I made a small character with the reference of DIsney and its long "Alladin" where the Genio used several transformations, I decided to use that as base and made a character and started animating it, beginning as a traditional animation, and then I finished in the digital part using photoshop, because the tool allowed the direct view of the animation while in the traditional I would have to pass the sheets to try to visualize the animation. More practicality however the method is more difficult being that the tablet does not prove the same way as paper and pen.

The initial idea for the looping animation of my character "Genius Pharaoh" was not much to my liking, more for the reason I failed to get to the desirable result of animation I had in mind. I wanted some more members to move, and also wanted to make the animation more fluid, but that meant more frames to draw, and the idea was not pleasing to me. I decided to change the style a bit, and at the same time I remembered the talk about stop-motion animation that was given in Ebac, and I remembered the animation style of Professor Broki. I thought about doing something in motion, though, that it was still in a loop. Something more basic not to worry about leaving the animation more fluid and without having to worry about making more frames because it would not be difficult to do, and also would be less worrying, to do a series of animations in loop, not only one. I started and the easiest method I knew was through Adobe After Effects Software. Where I had some presets to animate easier, such as fill between frames, so I did not have to worry about letting the animation flow. I did two small animations where one was about the recycling logo with the arrows turning around the earth in the middle, and the other a simple sunrise, but it was when I was warned that in the briefing there was a software limitation, and we were only supposed to use Photoshop and Premier, so no animation done using After Effects, and the idea was scrapped.

I spent a few days to work hard on the idea of a new animation, I was a bit sick, but even so, no idea hit my head, I would like to continue with the theme of a loop animation, to be easier and have an interesting visual appeal, and I think the idea of something to repeat takes the viewer by surprise. But I would like something flowing too. When I stopped to see what were the recurring or tried themes in my last animations. The aspect of the transformation with the technique of smear in the first animation, and something more fluid and more basic in the second, I decided to incorporate my blocked thought of trying to think of some animation and when usually I am in the pensive state, I turn my pen or pencil which is in my hand. I decided to make a looped animation of this act, because it repeats in my fingers the spinning pencil, it is simple, because it is only my hand and a pen turning and use the "smear" technique to give the sensation that the pencil is being turned quickly in my hand. The methid I used in this idea was to take onde photo of my legas and y hand in the middle, I traced my legs in the software and procced to animate my hand, not tracing over it, by looking at it, and drawing through the scale i had in my traced drawing of my legs. I added quite some frames with the technique of smear in my animation, trying to get the idea that the pen was spinning so fast, that you could see the distortion caused by the speed in it.

After a conversation with Carlos about how it could be my method to present my lyrics, the biggest reflective conclusion I had was that I should take the letter "N" to the public, to make the audience see the letter as I saw it. The letter was strictly linked to the effect of "Pareidólia" that means to see forms where it is not to see them. It took me the idea of making a shadow projection on different objects (which would go back to the place where I found the letter (a supermarket)) that in a specific angle it would be possible to see the letter "N" thus giving the effect of "Pareidólia" to the public. The objects I used were pieces of cardboard that are also found in supermarkets, to give emphasis also on the location of the letter.

Gabriel's crits about the animation:

-Wide range of techniques, photos were used to base the draw.
Improved, cut the video to not stutter the animation.
The act of the animation trasnmitted the feeling of being bored. The idea to be stuck and dont know what to do.
There is a research in the animation more in the techniques, but not related to the action or story itself.
The passing by colors pass the feeling of various ideas but none of them struck the mind of the artist to pursuit it.

The idea that thought for new ideas was blocked, which was what I wanted to pass, was hit, and also raised something very interesting, where the colors that go through the pen and the sneakers are ideas coming and going but not getting, already that thought is blocked. I believe that the research part was missing since I did not want to continue with my other two ideas, and it became something that I realized in the state of "no ideas" that I was, but the techniques and composition of the animation were all researched. The video of a choke at the time the animation loop is going to happen every time it repeats itself, more because of the reason I probably cut the wrong video in the editing software, but it's something to take into account, to give more fluency in animation.
The only addendum that I think went unheeded is the name of the soundtrack: Sleepleness. Which also tries to show the feeling and the act of constantly thinking about something and stop doing others.
