I stayed at a coffee shop for 1 hour to observe people. Do people talk to strangers. Most people only spoke to the waitress. Once in a while an individual spoke to a stranger. One person told a couple they had a cute baby. Others said hello. Fore the most part thee customers just sat down and started to look at the menu. Two people came in and looked like they were regulars because they called the waitress by her name. The coffee shop had a friendly atmosphere mostly because of the employees that worked there. Thee cliental in cluded middle aged white people. More men than women came in while I was there. Eveyone was welcomed in the same manner, a friendly smile and a warm this way please.

Values are society's norms. There are cultural norms and societal norms. Cultural norms are the customs and traditions that are passed down from one generation to the next. They’re connected to a particular culture's traditions, values, and practices. Societal norms, on the other hand, reflect the current social standard for appropriate behavior within a society. The norms show us how to behave. For example, don't fart in public, Do not kill people or animals. However, cultural norms can mean one thing in one country or another. For example, spewing in the United States but belching in Japan tells the chef his food is good.

A symbol is a mark, sign, or word that indicates, signifies, or is understood as representing an idea, object, or relationship. Symbols allow people to go beyond what is known or seen by creating linkages between otherwise very different concepts and experiences. All communication and data processing are achieved through symbols, which can take the form of words, sounds, gestures, and ideas. For example, @ means at, & means, and $ means money. Wedding rings are symbol of two peoples love.
