It is heartbreaking to say goodbye to Bishop Christopher Ssenyonjo, but we are so incredibly grateful for the life he has lived. He has been a deeply kind, brave, and loving man who truly practiced what he preached.

While many people turned their backs on the us the minority community, Bishop Ssenyonjo has always done exactly the opposite. By chosing to stand up for us, protecting us, and reminding everyone that God loves all people, without exception.This has really taken him courage to do what he has done, especially when it wasn't popular or safe.

He has neither used religion to judge or exclude people rather he has used it to bring people together and make sure everyone feels valued.

Even though he is no longer with us, the kindness and bravery he has portrayed/showed can or will absolutely never be forgotten.

Further more,because of his genuine heart, he has lived his life to change so many lives for the better and showed us what real love and fairness looked like.

Our hearts go out to his family and everyone who loved him.

Rest in peace, Bishop. Thank you for being a true hero of love and kindness.

It is with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of our beloved Bishop. His life was a true reflection of faith, humility, and service to God. He touched countless lives through his wisdom, love, and unwavering commitment to the Gospel.

I had the joy of meeting Bishop Ssenyonjo during a number of grantee visits while I led the work at UHAI EASHRI. He always reminded me of yet another Anglican bishop, Desmond Tutu. Men for whom God' love is truly universal and men who truly embodied what it means to be Christian: Christ-like. May you rest in peace Bishop...your legacy outlives you.

I had the profound honour of standing beside Bishop Ssenyonjo in 2012 when we received the Clinton Global Citizen Award. It remains one of the greatest privileges, not because of the award itself, but because I shared that moment with a man whose moral conviction is so holy.

Bishop was more than an ally. He was family to many of us.

As we lay him to rest on Saturday, we also celebrate a life that transformed countless others. His voice may be silent, but his witness continues in every act of courage, every life lived without shame because he dared to stand with us.

Rest well, Bishop. Thank you for reminding the world that love is holy, justice is sacred, and every person bears the image of God.

Your legacy will outlive hatred. With your love and courage we will outlive fear. 🕊️ 🕊️ 🕊️
