One thing that resonated with me was the pictures from Muskoka Woods. I attended for two years as a leader and I know how much of an impact it has on both students and leaders. One that jumped out to me is aI remembered having a Literacy Celebration Day. It was when I was in much younger grades. I would guess Grades 1 through 3. Parents came in to the school wearing costumes and they read some of their favourite books. That is such a cool memory that I forgot about. My grandma came in and read. It just makes me think that the things that I look back, twenty years later and remember are the really engaging personal events. Not some specific math lesson, but those relationship building moments. The special days depicted in the video, such as spirit days, assemble, and fundraisers, are the moments that stick out in my brain. Additionally, the happiness and connection were evident in the smiles of the students and the excitement of the teachers and staff. My elementary experience was similar; however, Notre Dame is not exactly how I envision elementary school given that there was very little multiculturalism. In order for a school to be an accurate microcosm of our community at large, it is essential that individuals from all races, ethnicities, and religions be present. Of course, Notre Dame is a Catholic school, so the lack of variety is to be expected. 

The greatest joys of my elementary experience were found through multicultural weeks, and daily discussions about how our differences can make our connections stronger. A major element that will define me in my upcoming teacher lifestyle is to create a classroom environment where it can be a second family to not only myself, but to the kids (most importantly).
